Union County welcomes new healthy eating option with Rush Bowls

Rush Bowls, a fast-casual eatery known for its fresh and healthy meals-in-a-bowl, has opened a new outpost in New Jersey. Located at 27 E Broad St. in Westfield, this new store is owned and operated by Reginald and MaryAnn StaRosa, an entrepreneurial couple from Fanwood who believe the concept will resonate well with the health-conscious Union County community.

Established 20 years ago in Colorado, Rush Bowls offers customizable, blended, all-natural fruit and vegetable bowls, smoothies, grab-and-go protein bites, and specialty treats for dogs made with bananas, peanut butter, milk, and froyo. The menu caters to those looking for guilt-free, low-calorie, clean eating options.

The StaRosas shared with TapInto Westfield that they considered various franchise businesses before choosing Rush Bowls, a chain they first encountered in Florida. With locations in Livingston, Lodi, and now Westfield, Rush Bowls continues to expand in New Jersey.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Rush Bowls has experienced continued growth, thanks to its ability to meet consumer demand for healthy, grab-and-go meal options. In fact, the brand was recognized in 2021 as one of the top emerging franchises by QSR magazine. With franchise opportunities introduced in 2016, Rush Bowls has since grown to 51 restaurants nationwide and has more than 100 additional locations in development across two dozen new markets.

Locally, Rush Bowls has opened two other locations in New Jersey within the past year – Lodi and Livingston. These shops are franchised by Joseph and Joe Treanor, a father-and-son team from Bergen County. The company’s commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible practices further enhances its appeal among health-conscious consumers.

In addition to its nutritious menu offerings, Rush Bowls in Westfield provides limited indoor seating, pick-up, and delivery options, including online ordering through the brand’s mobile app. Catering services are also available for those looking to enjoy Rush Bowls during special events or gatherings.

The Westfield location operates from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Mondays to Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursdays to Saturdays, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. This convenient schedule allows customers to enjoy their favorite bowls and smoothies throughout the week.

With its focus on providing nutritious, delicious, and convenient meal options, Rush Bowls continues to attract health-conscious individuals seeking a balanced and wholesome dining experience. As the brand expands its footprint across New Jersey and beyond, it is sure to remain a popular choice for those looking to fuel their bodies with fresh and healthy ingredients.
